Yeehaw! We're free from those Mex'cans! And Santy Anny! We should make today some sort of holiday (bigger than the fourth of July, but a little less than the day we seceeded from the Union). And Sam Houston was born! Double Yee-haw!

Dear Anonymous One,
I think that Texan Independence Day should be more well known. It should at least be celebrated with fireworks and stories and the suchlike. It's almost as important as the day we seceeded from the Union, February 1, 1861. Or would it be the day we joined the confederacy, March 2, 1861. (By the way, that should be in your thing on March 2, John, if you're reading this).
